In terms of software, Samsung’s One UI has long made its name in the top list. Many more are waiting for the new upcoming version of this UI, One UI 9. There have already been several discussions about it. This update is being built on Android 17 and through it, Galaxy users are expected to get better performance, new AI features and a smoother user interface. Like Samsung’s previous updates, this time too they are trying to cover a wide range of devices from flagships to mid-range.

Development and Testing of One UI 9

Samsung has already started the development of One UI 9. The One UI 9 beta program has already been officially launched on the Galaxy S26 series. In addition, internal testing has started on the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold7 and some mid-range devices. According to the leakers, some A series devices like Galaxy A57, A34 and A17 have also been spotted in early test builds. The main purpose of this testing is to stabilize new features and fix bugs. Samsung usually rolls out updates in a phased manner so that users can get the new experience without any major issues.

In addition, the Galaxy Tab S11 series, some new models of the Galaxy F and M series are also likely to get One UI 9. According to Samsung’s update policy, flagship devices usually get 6-7 years of support, and mid-range devices get 4-6 years. So most of the devices in the list above will get this update. However, some older models like the S22 series or devices like the Z Fold 4 are more likely to not get the update, because their update cycle is ending. However, sometimes Samsung changes its policy, so some in-eligible devices can also see the update.

Samsung OneUI 9 Features

One UI 9 will basically be a refinement-focused update. Based on Android 17, it will not bring major design changes, but will make existing features smoother and more usable. There will be some new and improved versions of Galaxy AI, such as smarter notification summaries, real-time translation, and creative tools. The media player widget on the lock screen will add new waveform animations, which will look more attractive.

There will be more customization options in the Quick Panel, so that users can control the device more easily. There will be major improvements in Samsung DeX, which will improve multitasking and productivity. Some of the core features of Android 17, such as app bubbles, adaptive apps, and foldable-tablet optimization, will be beautifully integrated into One UI 9. In addition, Parental Controls will be brought to a separate section, and security and accessibility features will also be strengthened.

Overall, One UI 9 will be a mature and stable update, where users’ daily experience will become easier and more enjoyable.

One UI 9 is another big step in Samsung’s software support. This update will reach many mid-range devices, starting from the Galaxy S26 series. If your phone is on the list above, then these new features will also be available to you very soon on your device. But always wait for the official update and keep a backup. It will become clearer with time when Samsung will roll out this update.
