Redmi has launched multiple products at a big event in China. Among those products, Redmi Pad 2 SE is one of the budget-level tablets. It was launched at the same event with the K90 Max phone. This tablet is actually a cheaper and decent version of Redmi’s new Pad series. It is going to be a good option for those who love large tablets because its display and battery are large.

Based on the specifications, Redmi seems to be focusing on practical features in the budget segment. 9.7-inch screen, metal body and large battery – these three things have been shown in the teaser from the beginning.

Display and Design

Redmi Pad 2 SE Specs

The screen has a 9.7-inch 2K resolution LCD panel. The refresh rate can go up to 120Hz and it has 600 nit peak brightness support. The good thing is that the display is TÜV Rheinland certified, which means Flicker Free, Low Blue Light and Eye Comfort support are provided. It is good for the eyes of those who study or watch videos for a long time.

In terms of design, it is unibody metal body. This means that the entire body is made of one metal piece. Having a metal body in this price segment still gives a pretty good feel. It is not a plastic body like a phone, which means it will feel a little more premium than a normal tablet. The weight distribution is balanced so that it can be used for a long time.

Battery, performance and camera

The Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset has been used as the processor. It is an entry-level chip, but it is enough for daily work, YouTube, e-books, light gaming or multitasking. RAM can start at 4GB/6GB and storage can start at 128GB. Storage can be expanded as there is a microSD slot.

There is a 7600mAh battery here. It supports 18W fast charging, although a 15W charger is included in the box. Talking about the camera, it has an 8MP main camera on the back and a 5MP selfie shooter. It usually works well for video calls or document scanning.

Software and others

It will run HyperOS, which is based on Android 16. There is 4G support (cellular version), so you can use the internet in addition to Wi-Fi. This means that if you buy the cellular version, you can install a SIM in it.

Redmi Pad 2 SE Launched Price

It has been launched in the budget segment in China. You will find this tablet in two variants – 6GB+128GB (WIFI), 6 GB+128 GB (4G). It is priced between ¥1099 and ¥1399 (approximately €137 to €175). If calculated in Indian rupees, it is around ₹15,000 to ₹20,000.

What are the chances of it coming to global or India?

Many models of Redmi’s Pad series come to global after launching in China. Since the SE version is budget-focused, it is likely to come to India or other markets. However, there is no official confirmation yet. Usually, the global version of such tablets is seen within 2-4 months of launch. When it comes to India, the price is estimated to be between ₹20,000-28,000.

What else was launched in China today

Redmi launched a few more products at the same event. The main attraction was the gaming-focused Redmi K90 Max phone, which has a built-in active cooling fan, 8550mAh battery and Dimensity 9500 chipset. At the same time, the tablet lineup has the premium Redmi K Pad 2 and its cheaper version Redmi Pad 2 SE – where the K Pad 2 has a 9100mAh battery and an 8.8-inch 3K display. In addition, the Redmi Book Pro 2026 series (14-inch and 16-inch versions) has been launched in the laptop category, and the new Redmi Buds 8 TWS earbuds have been launched as an audio product. All in all, Redmi has launched an entire ecosystem today.

21st April 2026, Redmi has brought new products in all three segments – gaming, productivity and budget tablets. The Pad 2 SE will be the most affordable and portable option among them.
