Poco has just dropped another solid budget bomb in the Indian market. On March 10, 2026, they officially launched the Poco C85X 5G – a phone that’s basically screaming “long battery life + smooth screen on a tight budget.” If you’re someone who hates charging your phone every few hours or wants a big display without breaking the bank, this one might just catch your eye.

I’ve been following Poco’s C-series for a while, and this feels like a natural upgrade from the earlier models – bigger battery, smoother display, and still super affordable. Let’s break it down properly so you can decide if it’s worth picking up.

Display

The standout feature here has to be the 6.9-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen. Yes, the resolution is HD+ (1600 × 720), which is common in budget phones. This will come with a 120Hz refresh rate, scrolling through Instagram Reels, YouTube shorts, or even just browsing feels buttery smooth. No more choppy swipes!

It hits up to 810 nits peak brightness in High Brightness Mode (around 660 nits typical), so even under Kolkata’s bright sun, you won’t struggle to see the screen. Plus, it comes with DC dimming, TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, and Flicker Free certifications – great if you spend long hours on your phone for work, studies, or binge-watching. The front has an 8MP selfie camera in a waterdrop notch. Overall, for movies, social media, and casual gaming, this display punches way above its price.

Performance

Under the hood, it runs on the Unisoc T8300 octa-core chipset (6nm process) – think of it as a reliable, efficient performer similar to entry-level Dimensity chips. Clock speeds go up to 2.2GHz on the performance cores, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU.

You get 4GB LPDDR4X RAM (expandable virtually up to +4GB) and storage options of 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.2 – plus a dedicated microSD slot for up to 2TB extra space. That’s huge for storing photos, videos, and apps without worrying about space.

It runs Android 16-based HyperOS (Xiaomi’s latest clean and customizable skin). Day-to-day stuff like WhatsApp, YouTube, Chrome, light editing apps, and even mid-settings PUBG Mobile or Free Fire should run fine without major lags. It’s not built for heavy gaming marathons, but for most users in this segment, it’s more than enough.

Camera

Rear setup is a 32MP primary sensor + auxiliary lens (for AI enhancements like portrait mode, scene detection). In good daylight, shots come out sharp with natural colors and good detail. Low-light performance is average – it has a night mode, but don’t expect flagship-level magic. Video recording tops at 1080p.

Selfies from the 8MP front camera are solid for video calls, Instagram stories, or quick snaps. Nothing revolutionary, but reliable for social media users.

Battery and Charging

Here’s where Poco really shines: a massive 6300mAh battery. Poco claims up to 2 days of moderate use – think 35+ hours of video playback, 14+ hours gaming, or 20+ hours social media. In real life, heavy users might still get a full day easily, and light users could stretch it to 1.5–2 days.

Charging is 15W wired (charger included in the box) and it supports 7.5W reverse wired charging – handy if you need to top up a friend’s phone in a pinch. No wireless, but at this price, who’s complaining?

Build, Durability, and Other Goodies

It has an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance, plus MIL-STD-810H certification for durability – so it can handle drops, vibrations, and everyday rough use better than most budget phones.

Colors available: Black, Gold, Green – all look premium in promo shots.

  • 4GB + 64GB: ₹10,999
  • 4GB + 128GB: ₹11,999

Open sale starts March 14, 2026, at 12 PM IST exclusively on Flipkart. Keep an eye out for launch offers, bank discounts, or no-cost EMI options – they usually drop the effective price a bit more.

Should You Buy the Poco C85X 5G?

If your priorities are insane battery backup, a large immersive screen, basic 5G connectivity, and staying under ₹12,000 – yes, this is one of the best options right now in the sub-₹12K segment. It’s perfect for students, first-time smartphone users, or anyone who wants reliability over flashy cameras or ultra-fast performance.

But if you need better low-light photos, smoother high-end gaming, or a full HD+ display, you might want to look at slightly higher models from Realme, Redmi, or Samsung in the same range. What do you think, guys? Planning to grab it on day one.
