The OPPO Reno16 series was officially launched in China today (25 May 2026). This series includes two phones – OPPO Reno16 and OPPO Reno16 Pro. The Reno series has always been popular for its stylish design, good camera and premium feel. This time, OPPO appears to be continuing that approach with a renewed focus on design, battery, and camera upgrades.
OPPO launched a few other products apart from the Reno16 series at this launch event. Among them, the OPPO Pad 6 tablet and OPPO Enco Air 5s earbuds are notable.
Specifications – OPPO Reno16
OPPO Reno16 is the standard model of the series, which has a 6.32-inch 1.5K flat OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display bezels are very slim and come with high brightness support, which has good outdoor visibility. It has a large battery of 6700 mAh and supports 80W fast charging.
The processor is MediaTek Dimensity 8550. This chipset should be suitable for day-to-day use, multitasking, and moderate gaming. The software is ColorOS 16 out of the box, which has added new AI features.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor on the back along with ultrawide and macro lenses. OPPO has its own camera optimization and AI features, so the performance is better than the previous generation. The front gets a 50MP selfie camera.

OPPO Reno16 Pro is the premium model of the series, which OPPO has created with more powerful performance, better cameras, and a larger battery. It is specially designed for those who want a more premium experience.
For the display, the Reno16 Pro features a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display should offer a premium viewing experience in terms of smoothness and colour reproduction. The processor is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. This chipset is much more powerful and efficient than the previous generation.
To help manage thermals during demanding workloads, OPPO has included an advanced cooling system aimed at maintaining stable performance. To provide a long-time gaming experience, it has a large battery of 7000 mAh. It also has 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.
Its camera setup is much better than the standard version. It features a 200MP main sensor (Samsung S5KHP5) on the back, along with 50MP ultrawide and 50MP telephoto lenses. OPPO is also highlighting new AI imaging features and Natural Tone processing for improved image quality. Like the standard model, the Pro also includes a 50MP front camera.

India & Global Launch Expectation
Although launched in China, the Reno16 series has not been officially announced yet when it will come to India. However, according to some leaks, there is a chance of the Reno series being launched in India in July. The price is expected to be higher in India.
OPPO Reno16 series has put a lot of emphasis on design and battery this time. Reno16 Pro can be attractive especially for those who want premium features. However, real-world camera performance, sustained thermals, and battery endurance will become clearer after hands-on testing.
