Design and Build Quality
Realme 16T 5G looks modern, though the plastic-heavy build reminds you this is not a premium flagship. The phone actually has a plastic frame and a plastic back finish. It weighs around 225 grams and is 8.8 mm thick. You will see the weight and thickness of the device a lot more due to having a large battery. This means that it will definitely feel heavy if you use it for a long time, but yes, the handgrip is good.
It comes in three color options – Starlight Black, Starlight Red and an attractive Aurora Green shade. It carries an IP69 rating, offering strong protection against dust and water exposure. Display
Realme 16T 5G has a 6.78-inch 144Hz LCD display. The refresh rate is 144Hz, to provide a smooth experience in animation and gaming. However, the display is of HD+ (1570*720px) resolution, which is by no means perfect for this price.
You will see up to 1200 nits peak brightness support. It is an 8-bit LCD display and supports a maximum 180hz touch sampling rate. Although this display provides a normal multimedia experience. Outdoor visibility is acceptable, but clearly not class-leading for this price segment.
Performance
The realme 16T 5G uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. It is a solid budget-level processor, which was launched around April 2024. The device’s AnTuTu score is seen around 6 lakhs. The phone runs very smoothly in everyday work, multitasking, social media, YouTube – in these cases.
But in heavy gaming (BGMI, COD Mobile, Genshin Impact), throttling is seen in long sessions. For casual gaming it should be fine, but extended gaming sessions could result in some performance dips because of heat. The performance of the ARM Mali-G57 GPU here is mediocre. Casual gamers should find the performance acceptable. But for users who play long gaming sessions at higher settings, this chipset may start to feel limiting.
Camera Performance
Rear 50MP Sony IMX852 main sensor + 2MP depth sensor. The picture comes out well in daylight – colors are natural, details are decent. The option to take wide shots is limited due to the lack of an ultrawide lens.
However, the colors cannot be retained evenly everywhere, the noise level is high in some places and the details are greatly reduced. Night mode works, but the results are average. Video can be recorded up to 1080p 30fps, stabilization is not good. The selfie camera is 16MP, whose quality is average or slightly better than average. The mirror selfie feature can be useful for users who prefer taking higher-quality selfies with the rear camera.

But Realme has only given a 45W charging option even after giving such a large battery. Considering the large 8000mAh battery, charging from 0 to 100% could take close to 2 hours depending on usage and ambient conditions. Since it supports bypass charging, the battery is protected even when charging while gaming.
Software, Connectivity & Other Features
You will see Realme UI 7 based on Android 16 out of the box on the phone. The company claims that it will get OS updates for up to three years and security updates for four years.
Of course, there are a lot of pre-installed bloatware here too and some of them can be uninstalled. There is a hybrid SIM slot – that is, one SIM + memory card or two SIM cards can be used. You will find 5G network support, Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi – in connectivity. A single speaker has been given here, the volume of which can be boosted up to 400%.
